Expect 2016 Tax Refund Delays

There is a new federal tax law that will cause a delay in received refunds in 2017 for the tax year 2016 filings.  If you planed on filing your tax return as early as possible you will have to wait a possible additional 2 weeks.  As of today’s writing the IRS will begin accepting 2016 filings by e-file or by mail as of January 23.  Those who claim the EITC Earned Income Tax Credit or the ACTC Additional Child Tax Credit will for sure be affected.  Statements from the IRS indicate that all filings will be affected.

Sincerely,
